Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP)
The PPP is a compulsory module for the Foundation Certificates and Foundation Degree and is a also a pre-requisite for the Professional Practice in Technical Rescue Instruction.
It is a classroom-based course, which focuses on the professional aspects of the technical rescue industry, specifically report writing. It is run over two days and looks at the application of technical rescue knowledge to the evaluation of specific issues, i.e. producing a justification for training levels for your fire service or writing an expert witness report. From this the course then looks at presenting this information as professional report, including writing styles (academic writing), presentation, constructing arguments etc. The knowledge and understanding developed during this course will not only assist you within the technical rescue industry but can also be transferred to other industries.
The assessment strategy is the evaluation of an issue within the technical rescue industry, which is presented as a professional report along with a log/portfolio of supporting evidence.
Pre-requisites
Rescue 3 SRT qualification (although it is recommended that students also hold a Rescue 3 Instructor award as well)
