Police Water Response 2010

30th & 31st March 2010

The Police Service across the UK has a long history of responding to water incidents of all kinds. Following the unprecedented flooding witnessed across many parts of the UK during the last decade, Officers and support personnel are exposed more than ever to a wide range of water related hazards.

Police Water Response 2010 is the first national conference designed specifically to meet these challenges both at an operational and an organisational level. Hosted by Rescue 3 (UK) & The Technical Rescue Group ~ the UK's largest and most experienced flood and water rescue training partnership.

The conference aims to provide:

Decision makers in the UK Police Service with access to high quality information and advice about the nature of water incident taskings and the risks of attending inland water incidents.

Understanding of the specific risks & hazards responders are exposed to at flood events.

Practical demonstrations of the tactics and equipment that is considered UK best practice.

Specific safe rescue tactics for Police 1st to scene responders while awaiting specialist support.

An unparalleled and focused networking opportunity for policy, training & operational personnel involved in tasking to water incidents.

A clear briefing on the emerging Team Typing System for multi agency flood rescue response.

The opportunity to explore operational challenges across a wide spectrum of water related taskings.

The two day conference will be based at Rescue 3 (UK) South West's new training centre at the River Dart in Devon. The site offers a superb range of water environments needed for the compelling demonstrations that form an integral part of this unique event.
