Course content
This is a five day course for existing Rescue 3 SRT Unit 1 and WRT rescue technicians looking at advanced rescue situations, technical rope rescue solutions for water rescue and search management in a swiftwater & flood environment.
It is both classroom and river based and will include:
- Search management
- Technical rope solutions to advanced rescue problems
- Medical issues
- Advanced rescue scenarios
- Two Night exercises
Night Exercises
There are two night/poor visibility exercises as follows:
- Applying water rescue skills learnt on SRT Unit 1/ WRT in a night time/poor visibility setting
- Night search exercise
Please ensure that you have a good quality torch and adequate changes of clothes to stay warm during these exercises. You may need to arrange early/late meals for these two exercises.
Pre-requisites for Attending the Course
- Current Rescue 3 Swiftwater Rescue Technician Unit 1 or WRT
